Red Wings Take 2-0 Finals Lead Over Penguins

The Detroit Red Wings took a 2-0 lead in the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals after beating the Pittsburgh Penguins, 3-1, Sunday night at Joe Louis Arena.

Because the first two games were scheduled back-to-back, the Finals are flying by at lightening speed.  If a sweep were to occur, the series will be over on Thursday — just three days from now.  It may be too early to start celebrating, but even if the Wings don’t sweep, it is going to be very difficult for the Penguins to overcome the two game hole they now occupy.

Below is a highlight video from last night’s victory.
