Detroit Loses Fan Who Caught Magg’s Pennant Winning Homer

The home run hit by Magglio Ordonez in the 2006 ALCS has become one of the most well known moments in Detroit Tigers’ history.  It was the shot that sent the Tigers to the World Series for the first time in 22 years.

The home run ball was caught by a Waterford man named Jon Fenlon, then 23.  Sadly, Fenlon died yesterday while running the Detroit Free Press marathon.  Below is a segment from Fox 2 News Detroit that tells the story:
