VIDEO:1957 Detroit Lions NFL Championship Game at Briggs Stadium

The 1957 NFL championship game was the League’s 25th. The NFL title game was held on December 29, 1957 at Briggs Stadium.  The game was the fourth matchup of the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns for the championship. The Lions beat the Browns in 3 of those 4 title games and have not appeared in or won a championship game (including the Super Bowl) since.

The Browns had won the Eastern Conference with a record of 9-2-1 while the Lions had to play a playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers in the previous week.

Below are video clips of the game that gave Detroit its last NFL championship with some great footage of Briggs Stadium.
