- 1984 Finishing a sweep of the Angels in Anaheim on May 24, 1984, the Tigers run their record to 35-5, the best 40-game start in baseball history. They also win their 17th straight road game, tying a major league mark dating back to 1916. Jack Morris improves his record to 9-1, hurling a four-hit gem against the Angels. Lance Parrish and Alan Trammell hit homers for Detroit.
