- 1988 On June 19, 1988, in Game Six of the NBA Finals, Bill Laimbeer is called for a foul against Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with 14 seconds left and Detroit clinging to a 102-101 lead at The Forum. Replays show that Laimbeer did not touch Jabbar, but the legendary Laker center hits two free throws and Los Angeles wins the game to force a Game Seven, which they win over the Pistons.
